It's time to speak up!
Welcome HomeLess is a pan-European touring exhibition that is to feature in the street scene in many European capitals during the next years.
The exhibition consists of 13 different human-size bronze sculptures of homeless people that will be exhibited in public areas on main streets and squares during 2010 and 2011. The sculptures are created by Jens Galschiøt, a Danish sculptor.
Focus on the homeless
The sculptures focus attention on the homeless and their special problems and circumstances – as well as the lack of help, rights and advice for Europe’s homeless today.
Simultaneously they will function as giant collecting boxes – making it easier for the thousands of Europeans passing the eye-catching sculptures to make a financial contribution to organisations that help the homeless
Three-week stop in each European capital
The Welcome HomeLess touring exhibition opens in 2010, in the Danish capital Copenhagen, but will continue on its journey around Europe afterward.
All 13 sculptures will travel through Europe to make sure that the EU year for Combatting Poverty and Social Exclusion does not go by unnoticed. The sculptures will be exhibited for three weeks in each participating country, and during the time of the exhibition there will be several possibilities to participate in debates and other events. It will be three weeks of information, discussions and enlightening. We co-operate with many NGOs within the field of homelessness in Europe, and they are all a great help for carrying out the exhibition.
As for now we have interested partner NGOs in:
- Luxembourg

And we hope that others will join in too.
