Homelessness up close
                                                          - a pan-European art exhibition

In Europe today homelessness is a neglected problem in many countries. It is difficult to bring forward to the civil societies the terrible conditions and lack of rights of the homeless people.

Welcome HomeLess is a different and vivid way of letting the citizens of Europe know just how the people without homes are living. The art exhibition is named Welcome HomeLess, because 13 sculptures portraying homeless people will tour through and be welcomed in the European countries, just like many European homeless cross borders every day in search of happiness.

We want to make a difference

But not all homeless people are welcomed to a life in happiness. The exhibition is not about politics and it is not about pointing out ‘scapegoats’ – it is all about informing the citizens of Europe in a local, national and international level about homelessness. In relation to the European Year 2010 of Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, Welcome HomeLess will help reach out to the European citizens and make them stop for a minute or two. We are interested in creating debates and discussions concerning homelessness in all shapes and sizes.

The 13 sculptures will be exhibited in streets and squares in European capital cities throughout 2010 with the help of NGOs around Europe, which all fight for better conditions for the homeless.
If you are a NGO within the field of homelessness, you can also be a part of the touring exhibition. Write us an e-mail and learn more about Welcome HomeLess.

In this website you can find all the information you need about the exhibition, the people behind, news and up-dates. Sign up for the monthly newsletter in the bottom of this page and we will keep you informed about the development and carrying out of the Welcome HomeLess pan-European touring exhibition.
